Laurence Bonfoey ~ Dance Instructor
I show people how to have fun dancing!
My name is Laurence Bonfoey.
I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona.
My love of dance began in 1974 when a friend invited me to go Country Western Dancing. Dancing grabbed my heart
and never let go.
I began working full time at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in 1975. I achieved both Bronze and Silver levels of Ballroom Dancing. I traveled across the United States as a dance instructor, including two years in Toledo, Ohio.
The beautiful desert, perfect weather, the great outdoors, and Country Western Dancing brought me back home to Tucson.
I knew I wanted to teach as many people as possible! Pima Community College gave me that opportunity for 18 great years. Students became life long friends, and many have taken additional classes over the years.
"The Bonfoey Studio Of Fine Art and Dance"
opened in 1992. There was a staff of eight dance instructors who taught 34 classes a week. It was a busy and rewarding time.
Now I specialize in small group classes and private
lessons year round at my convenient location in Oro Valley, AZ.. the last 12 years!
The Maverick, Tucson's oldest and most popular Country Western Night Club, provides a location for me to help people both learn and polish their dance skills. Fun Dance classes and popular Country Western Dances are taught every Friday and Saturday night 7-8 PM the last 8 years!.
I personally invite you to join us at the Maverick.
Polish your dance skills, learn a new dance and dance the night away to some of the best live music in Arizona.
Dance instruction has been part of my life for over 42 years!
Everyone can learn to dance and enjoy the fun and confidence that it brings!
The satisfaction of helping people gain a sense of excitement as they progress in their dance journey will keep me teaching Dance always!
